If you came along in the decades starting in the 1950s, theanswer is probably very few or none. To our predecessors however, metalfouling in the barrel of their favorite fowling piece was a very real problem. Whenprogressively larger deposits of jacket metal fouling start accumulating in thebore of their rifle it became ruinous to the accuracy.
